Scholastic Reading Counts! is an independent reading program for Grades K–12 which combines reading practice and software-based reading assessment. SRC! is the program PROVEN to develop reading skills, help raise test scores, and motivate students to achieve reading success.
In class students will have the opportunity to go to our school's library and check out a book using their own library card; if the student chooses an SRC! book they will then be able to take a test on the book. Parents may also check out up to three books for a period of one week from our school's library to take home and read with their child. Any book that the child reads at home with their parent may be brought to class for a reading counts test.
Reading Counts is a flexible, literature-based motivation and management program that is designed to get students to read.
